Heavily inspired by the surrealist dreamscapes of Gertrude Abercrombie, the idea for this painting came after seeing lots of old Buddhist works whilst backpacking around Asia. It was designed for my brand Goosbey as a means to pay homage to all the things that have inspired me creatively growing up. After creating a rough concept in photoshop, I drew the design onto an A1 sheet and painted over it for a few months using acrylics and paint pens.

Littered liberally around the landscapes are little homages; such as the Tank Man in the bottom left, Star Wars AT-ATs and a pouncing Batman. Non-fiction references include the seven people sat on the wings of the goose (from left to right): Indiana Jones; George Harrison; Pablo Picasso; Tyler, the Creator; Paul McCartney; Malala Yousafzai; and Paulo Coelho. Lastly, taking up the centre right of the painting, is The Simpsons' big glass dome and a reflective Iron Giant.
